Dear Danielle,

I am you, from the future, all grown up. I know other people have hurt you and disappointed you, but now I am here to protect you while you learn about the world. I am going to help you love others and allow them to love you in return, just the way you are. You are unique; there will never be another person quite like you. You will change the world in your own way, on your own terms. It is okay to say “no” if you don’t want to do something. I know this is not easy, and it is okay to feel sad, angry or afraid. You are doing the best that you can to survive this painful time.
