Poetry - Eating Disorder
Mouthfuls
It crawls into your ear
as you lie sleeping
the black bug
burrows into the pores
of your bones
with its eggs
it rearranges your thoughts
teaches you
how to
spill your mouthfuls silently
without the tap running
to tell everyone
it tells you
that you have buried yourself
somewhere beneath lead heavy
fleshy layers
lathered over your back
you’re a spineless pretender
