String

You skillfully string
me along
dropping little
hints
kisses
side glances
you plant
compliments
inastraightline

I follow
swallow
your sentiments
like hard candies
rolling them over my tongue
I suck away the sugar shell
until it erodes
to a center
of liquid disappointment
