Poetry - Self

Fault Lines

White noise
sifts through your eardrums
scratching its yellow nails
on the inside of your eyelids
a black backdrop
blooming with dizzy shapes
and colors

your cracked lips
rip open
a waterfall
of swallowing
a swollen red balloon

split second
yellow light hesitation
drunk with danger
you finally commit
splitting open the fault lines
to tuck away the blame
then quickly
sew it up
cover it
forget
